Messi will be remembered, but Martinez & Argentina team-mates won't - Ibrahimovic

Following Argentina's victory over France in the final of the World Cup in Qatar last December, Ibrahimovic gave his verdict.

In spite of acknowledging captain Messi's contributions, AC Milan's striker was less than impressed with the rest of the team.

Ibrahimovic told France Inter: "Messi is the best player in history, I was sure he would win, but [Kylian] Mbappe will win a World Cup," he said.

"I am not concerned about him. I am concerned about the other Argentina players. Messi won everything and will always be remembered, but the rest who behaved badly cannot be respected.

It is a sign that you won once, but you won't win again. You don't win like that."

After Argentina's win over France, FIFA investigated Argentina's behavior in the final. During their celebrations, Emiliano Martinez and some of the other members of the team made a lewd gesture after receiving the Golden Glove award for best goalkeeper.
