Days after getting engaged, a bride-to-be tragically died after mixing her tea with the wrong spoon. A dairy allergy caused Jess Prinsloo, 24, to die while on a romantic holiday with her partner Craig McKinnon, also 24.

It was on December 27 at God's Window viewpoint in Mpumalanga when Craig proposed to her. On December 30, the pair traveled to her mum's house in Johannesburg after celebrating a number of days in Salisbury, Wiltshire.

Jess sadly died the next day in the hospital after going into anaphylaxis after touching milk. On social media, Craig wrote: "It's hard to find clarity on this worst day of my life.".

However, I would not trade the 3+ years I spent with my Jess for 60 years with anyone else. I have been blessed to call her my fiancée for the three greatest days of my life." "I am devastated, and feeling pain like I've never felt before."

While at university, they met and moved in together in 2021. Craig knew there was no better place to propose as Jess had not been back to South Africa in six years.
