Sam Fender, a musician, has revealed that he will open for Bruce Springsteen and The E Street Band at two scheduled gigs in Italy next year.Newcastle-born artist Fender, dubbed the “Geordie Springsteen,” announced the news on Twitter today (November 28), writing: “I’m remembering the first time [Springsteen’s] music spoke to me as a teenager!” I’ll be opening for him in Italy next year. “Wait, what the heck is going on?”

Springsteen will be touring Europe with The E Street Band next summer, and Fender will join him at Ferrari’s Parco Urbano G. Bassani on May 18 and Rome’s Circo Massimo on May 21.On November 11, the Dancing In The Dark singer released his latest album, Only The Strong Survive, which he characterised as “a collection of 15 soul greats.”
Back in 2021, Fender, famed for his smash singles Seventeen Going Under and Howdon Aldi Death Queue, spoke with NME about the comparison between him and Springsteen. “I can’t exactly dismiss those analogies, can I?” he stated at the time. At the same time, he added, “I don’t feel deserving of that title.”
