Brazil’s FIFA World Cup campaign began on Day 5 in Lusail with a 2-0 victory over Serbia. The Serbians put up a fight, but Tite’s team held them off with two goals from Richarlison after the hour mark.

While the first may have been a struggle, the second was a masterpiece as the Tottenham Hotspur player scored twice for the Selecao. Both goals were assisted lavishly by Vinicius Junior, who contributed a spilled shot for the first and an acrobatic assist for the second.
Dragan Stojkovic’s men had resisted for the first hour, but when Richarlison gave Brazil a boost, the second team only needed 11 minutes to catch up. In Group G, the South Americans took first place.The only thing that worried Tite and his team was that Neymar appeared to be injured late in the game. Overall, though, the favourites got off to a good start.

Serbian obstinacy
Up until Richarlison displayed his scathing instincts, the Eagles kept things close and did not offer Brazil much of a chance. If Stojkovic’s team can maintain that level of tension against teams like Switzerland and Cameroon, they may be able to finish second in this group.
