Dates and locations announced for USA Cycling’s 2023 National Championship

There will be a number of national championships taking place in 2023, and USA Cycling has announced the dates and locations of the events.

On June 22-25, USAT will hold its final Pro Road Nationals in Knoxville, Tennessee, marking the end of a seven-year partnership between the two organizations.

Having been the host of USA Cycling since 2017, it has been an incredible achievement and an honor for Visit Knoxville, whose President, Kim Bumpas, noted that. The current agreement we have with the riders will expire at the end of this season, and the riders are welcome to return in the future. The USA Cycling team has become very close to us and we are excited for the exciting event that is going to take place here in Knoxville in 2023.”

Albuquerque, NM will host the Collegiate Road Nationals in May. “Albuquerque was proud to host the successful USA Cycling Masters Road events in 2021 and 2022 and we are pleased to be chosen to host the Collegiate Road National Championships in 2023 and 2024,” said Tania Armenta, President & CEO of Visit Albuquerque.

The Southwestern hospitality we are known for will be on full display as we welcome back USA Cycling athletes along with their families and friends.”

Ahead of the summer season, Visit Virginia’s Blue Ridge, a nonprofit organization that promotes the Blue Ridge Mountains, is hosting the Amateur Road Nationals in Roanoke, VA, on June 13-17, where mountain biking enthusiasts will be tested on the hills of the Blue Ridge Mountains.

VELO Sports Center in Carson, California, will host a week of track events for juniors, elites, and para athletes, beginning on July 5th and ending on August 13th. This event will also feature a Masters Track event at Rock Hill, SC, on August 8th-13th. During the week of September 14-17, the Valley Preferred Cycling Center in Trexlertown, Pennsylvania, will host the Collegiate Track Championship. The Gran Fondo Nationals will be held in Frederick, MD on the 17th of September. In Detroit, MI, on November 10th and 12th, the Madison Track Nationals will be returning to the Lexus Velodrome for the first time in five years.

A week of racing will conclude Cyclocross Nationals’ 2023 season at Joe Creason Park in Louisville, KY, continuing the reunion tour of CX Nationals.

According to Louisville Sports Commission Vice President of Sports Development Greg Fante, Louisville has a history of hosting international and national cycling events.

With elite athletes, officials, and spectators coming from across the country to Louisville, we are honored to host this national championship again.

A National Championship is the peak of the season for so many USA Cycling members, said Brendan Quirk, President & CEO of USA Cycling. Participation in 2022 grew significantly, and we expect this trend to continue in 2023.”

As well as the aforementioned races, USA Cycling will shortly announce the dates and locations of the events for Endurance Mountain Bike, Gravity Mountain Bike, Masters Road, College Mountain Bike, Marathon Mountain Bike events, as well as the first-ever Gravel National Championships.
